About Instructor
Brian Jackson is an accomplished executive with 38 years of project and functional leadership experience across a variety of industries including mining & metallurgy, oil, gas & chemicals, uranium refining & conversion, industrial and municipal water and wastewater treatment, and iron & steel. He has successfully led several large-scale mining and mineral processing projects including the execution phase of Iamgold’s CAD3 billion Côté Gold project in Ontario, the execution phase of Sibelco’s USD200 million Spruce Pine Expansion project in North Carolina and the selection and definition phase studies for BHP’s CAD5.8 billion Jansen project in Saskatchewan. He has substantive experience leading multidisciplinary project teams, including joint ventures, from early-stage studies to project execution while demonstrating a commitment to safety, quality and stakeholder satisfaction. Brian also has functional management expertise at the engineering discipline (mechanical and piping), EPCM operations, office and business line levels.
Brian holds a Bachelor of Engineering Science (Mechanical) from the University of Western Ontario and is a licensed Professional Engineer in the provinces of Nova Scotia and Ontario. He is presently Vice President, Project Execution – North America for Ausenco, a multinational consulting engineering, procurement, construction management, and operations service provider to the resources sectors.
