Leandro is a tax partner at Deloitte Canada and leads the Energy, Resources and Industrials Tax practice at the firm. With over 20 years of taxation experience, primarily in the mining sector, Leandro has focused on a broad range of matters including mining taxation, tax strategy and planning, mergers and acquisitions, financial and tax modeling and financing structures.

Leandro has also been responsible for leading global client service teams in providing strategic tax advice to mining companies primarily in Canada, Latin America and Australia. As part of his specialization, Leandro has consulted on various taxation trends affecting the mining sector including taxation policy, multi-jurisdictional taxation review and tax transparency.

Leandro started his career in Brazil and spent 6 years practicing Brazilian and international tax before moving to Canada. Given his background and mining specialization Leandro has much experience in dealing with tax regimes in several countries including Brazil, Mexico, Chile and Peru.
