About Instructor
Veronika Raizman is a Professional Geoscientist (ON) with nine years of laboratory and field experience in environmental science, geochemistry, and microbiology. Her work in the mining industry focuses on the prediction and management of acid rock drainage and contaminant leaching during all phases of the mining cycle, as well as mine waste characterization using static, kinetic, and field testing programs. Veronika’s research focuses on integrating geochemical, hydrogeological, and geophysical data to characterize groundwater systems with contamination related to subsurface microbial communities. Her microbiology background includes extensive laboratory experience in culturing-dependent and -independent techniques, including electron microscopy and genomics.
